About

PhD student in English, Boston College, 2011-

I am currently undertaking coursework and preparing for an interdisciplinary minor field exam which will be titled "Contemporary Fiction: Navigating Place and Placelessness"

I am interested in the related concepts of placelessness, displacement and exile and how these are translated and/or mapped onto the landscapes and environments described in the late twentieth century and contemporary novel. Within this broadly defined area, topics of particular interest to me are: non-places and supermodernity; modern ruins; immigrant fiction; and dislocation as trauma.

MA Myth, Literature and Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex, 2010
